Wow, this was a really good lesson! Facebook is my online community of choice. I’ve used facebook for awhile. I’m hot and cold with it. Sometimes I can get into it and enjoy checking in and keeping up with people. Lots of great conversations and reconnections have happened via facebook. So many things about facebook make it such a great tool. Its truly changing the way we are communicating.
Eh, other times, I get a little reclusive and tend to shy away from the book, enjoying the privacy of not broadcasting all my happenings online. Going through the week’s lesson was very helpful for me. For one thing, it forced me to review my privacy settings and make a few small adjustments. I appreciated being prompted to look at the information friends could send about me through applications. It also made me think about ’friends of friends’ and how broad that category could potentially be. My other new “discovery” was the ability to create lists of friends & subdivide the disparate groups in my friend list. I really think this is helpful and will enhance the way I use this tool.
